4.7 Options Menu

This menu item lets you change several RAIDZONE options, as well as request an immediate refresh of all status information displayed on the screen.

4.7.1 Options - Enable Auto Hot Spare

This option allows you to specify whether a Hot Spare disk (if any) should be automatically put into service by RAIDZONE when a disk fails, or whether RAIDZONE should wait for manual intervention. Auto Hot Spare is turned on when a check mark is displayed on this line.

4.7.2 Options - Show Event Viewer

When this option is turned on, the RAIDZONE Administrator screen displays the Windows NT Event Log in the lower part of the screen. Only events related to RAIDZONE disk arrays are shown.

4.7.3 Options - Refresh Status Info

When the RAIDZONE Administrator program is first started up, it retrieves and displays the current status of all RAIDZONE components. While the RAIDZONE Administrator program remains on the screen, it periodically updates this status information. However, in the interest of performance, and because the retrieval of staus information adds overhead to high speed disk operations, the information is only updated once every few minutes.

The Refresh Status Info command enables you to request an immediate update of all status information at any time.
