Step 1: Install the RAIDZONE Hardware
There are two parts to this installation step:
- RAIDZONE hardware overview and space planning.
- Install the RAIDZONE hardware in your computer.
Before you begin, please read this important warning.
Prevent Static Electricity Damage
Electronic components on the RAIDZONE card, in the RAIDZONE SmartCan disk enclosure, and inside your computer are susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharge. Avoid static electricity damage when installing the RAIDZONE subsystem by following these tips:
- Do not remove any RAIDZONE components from their protective packaging until you are ready to install them in your computer.
- Do not move around while handling any RAIDZONE component, once you've removed it from its anti-static packaging.
- Ground yourself by touching the metal back panel of your computer case before touching the RAIDZONE card or any electronic component of the RAIDZONE SmartCan disk enclosure or your computer system.
